First Lieutenant Luther was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of the 99th Field Artillery Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy near Pokkok, South Korea on September 3, 1950.
For his leadership and valor, First Lieutenant Luther was awarded
